Tenant Newsletter - Summer 2016 issue 2

Hi! Welcome to the second issue of the Noble & Associates Tenant Newsletter. In this Summer Issue we are going to talk about water. We hope that you will find our newsletter informative and engaging!

Summer Watering Schedule

Did you know?

During the summer and early fall our water usage can double compared to the rest of the year! A lot of the water is used to green our lawns and wash our decks. So around this time, the Vancouver region has sprinkling regulations in effect May 15 to October 15.

For residential lawns, sprinkling is allowed for –

  • Even-numbered addresses: Monday, Wednesday, Saturday mornings 4 am to 9 am
  • Odd-numbered addresses: Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday mornings 4 am to 9 am

Did you know?

1 hour of lawn sprinkling uses as much water as 25 toilet flushes, 5 loads of laundry, and 5 dishwasher loads COMBINED! Try to reduce your water usage wherever you can! An hour of light rain per week is all you need for a healthy lawn.

Are flushable wipes really flushable?

Some flushable wipes are marketed as an alternative to toilet paper.

Many people use flushable wipes and cleansing cloths as that seems to be a more convenient and cleaner choice. However, unlike toilet paper, wipes (including the ones branded to be “flushable”) do not easily break down when flushed. Wipes could cause big trouble and clog up pumps, pipes and sewer lines. That can then lead to backed up pipes, sewage spills and floods in your units! To be safe, it is advised that we only flush toilet paper down the drain!

Speaking of toilets, it is also good practice to make sure the toilet has stopped running after flushing before you leave the bathroom (and especially before you leave the house). This can lower the chance of an overflow toilet and save you money from repairing expensive water damages!
